To measure a kimono, several key dimensions are considered. Body length is measured from the back collar to the hem, determining how the garment drapes and allowing for a traditional fold (ohashori) at the waist. Body width, taken across the back from shoulder seam to shoulder seam, ensures a comfortable fit. Sleeve length runs from the shoulder seam to the cuff, while sleeve height is measured vertically from top to bottom, capturing the kimono’s elegance. These measurements ensure proper fit and aesthetic. The obi allows for further adjustments, ensuring graceful draping and comfort.
